Child Care
For more than three decades, Pinellas County has been a national model for establishing standards of child care through the Pinellas County License Board for Children’s Centers and Family Day Care Homes.
This board is comprised of community leaders and by mandate, through a highly qualified professional staff, ensures
the protection of children receiving care away from their own homes — especially the child’s health, safety and education.
While its tax-supported services are directed primarily to parents of preschool children and child care providers, the Board’s mission is to ensure the availability of quality child care programs to all who need them.
To the newcomer, the selection of a child care provider can seem difficult. Remember, you need to feel comfortable
with the choice you make.
